Westboro Village's FREE Fall Festival

Westboro Village has become synonymous with both community spirit and the arts, as evidenced by the success of WESTFEST. WESTFEST’s popularity over the past five years encouraged the Westboro Village BIA to launch a new event in 2008: a celebration of autumn called Cornucopia. Billed as a giant animated sidewalk sale, Cornucopia will once again draw thousands to our Richmond Road commercial strip on October 9, 2010 (Thanksgiving Saturday) to enjoy all that Westboro Village has to offer, along with some special activities.

Created by Elaina Martin, the energetic Executive Director of the Westboro Village Business Improvement Area, and Founder and Producer of WESTFEST, Cornucopia is as much about entertainment as it is shopping. The vision behind the event is to draw together a series of activities and performances which represent the truest form of cornucopia, offering a little of everything in one space, with an emphasis on creating a celebratory, artistic atmosphere. Most importantly, Cornucopia is a chance to offer something fun and free back to the people who support Westboro Village’s shops and businesses all year long.

Unlike WESTFEST, where much of Richmond Road is closed to traffic, Cornucopia provides a different experience, where vehicles, pedestrians, merchants and artists all intersect and interact. From babes in strollers gaping up at stiltwalkers to older couples enjoying an outdoor snack while being entertained by buskers, Cornucopia is a feast for all the senses. Based on the success of the first rendition of Cornucopia, everyone at the Westboro Village BIA is proud to support this event as an annual tradition. It will always take place on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, as a convenient and popular day for many to be out shopping. What better place to enjoy some free entertainment and pick up everything you need but in Westboro Village?
